Our Mission & Vision

The Mission of Haiti Kids School is to support Lott Carey School in Leogane, Haiti, in providing Christ-centered education, nutritious meals, and essential health care to students, staff, and the surrounding community, with the goals of disrupting poverty and sharing the enduring hope of Jesus Christ.

We see a future filled with Haiti Kids who are self-reliant and well-educated; graduates who are grounded in Christian Education, have strong bodies and transformed minds, and are well-equipped to continue the ministry of spreading knowledge and the Love of Jesus Christ to the next generation.

We see a future Lott Carey School that is sustainable, resourceful, and enduring, enabling its students, staff, families, and surrounding community to thrive. We see the impact of Dignity – our leadership model of supporting the real game-changers: Haitians who are helping Haitians. We are building on the resilience that was already there, working alongside communities that have long persevered through adversity. Our commitment to honor, empower, and build up Haitian leaders to serve their community is fuel for self-sustenance and lasting lift.

We see a new generation of leaders standing on the shoulders of the long-standing “pillars” of the current ministry, who in turn, are standing on the The Rock Solid Foundation of Haiti Kids School, who is Jesus Christ.

Core Values

Strategic Passion –
The Haiti Kids School Team consists of U.S. and Haitian leaders who serve together with strategic passion. Many on our team have served in this capacity for 10, 20, and even nearly 30 years. No matter the setback, no matter the need, no matter the amount of resources in hand, we strive to find a way to feed, educate, supply, and share the love of Jesus Christ with the students in our school, the families in our community, and the hurting throughout our region. Our team’s Heart for Haiti, its people, and its culture is deep. We do not stop at the thousands of people we have already reached – our hearts ache to reach even one more

Faithful Dependability –
The Lott Carey staff faithfully manage every program. They support the children of the school, the families of the community, and each other with unwavering commitment. In the midst of unspeakable challenges, they continue to help, serve, give, and find a way to get things done. The U.S. Team Members strive to follow, support, and prop up the Lott Carey Team. The leaders of Lott Carey are admirable and trustworthy. Their faith is living and active. This combination of dependability and availability has resulted in many blessings and God-sized miracles: when given a figurative cup of rice, they literally manage to feed thousands. We stand in awe of God, and in humble partnership with each other.

Building Community –
Built on the solid foundation of the Love of Jesus Christ, Lott Carey School is a rock for the community, a Lighthouse whose impact spreads to surrounding regions: A Beacon of Hope. What started as a small group of donors supporting the school has expanded into a collaborative network with local people actively working for lasting change - now it is the school that is supporting a whole community. In a national environment of violence and corruption, it is often the local community and trusted institutions that need to step up. Haiti Kids School is doing exactly that: With our support to Lott Carey, families are being nurtured and encouraged, its students are sharing what they are learning with their parents and unreached neighbors, and the community is growing in faith beyond all circumstances. This is The Ripple Effect of Hope.
